Everyone aged over 16 years is encouraged to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at the Stanthorpe Showgrounds this week.
People attending the clinic will be screened by our staff on arrival to ensure the Pfizer vaccination is suitable.
“If you want a vaccine, please come in,” Annette Scott, Executive Lead for the Darling Downs Health Emergency Operations Centre, said.
Previous advice suggesting that people aged over 60 years needed to present medical clearance to receive a vaccination has been updated.
“We want this clinic to be accessible to as many people as possible,” Ms Scott said.
The clinic is open from 8.30am to 3.50pm Tuesday 10 August to Thursday 12 August, and 8.30am to 1pm on Friday 13 August.
If you have questions about the vaccine, talk to your doctor or health care worker to get the right, up-to-date information.
“The vaccination is safe and is free. It is the best way to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community,” Ms Scott said.
If you plan to attend the clinic, please bring ID, your Medicare card, and a pen.
Keep an eye on the Darling Downs Health Facebook page for updates about wait times and clinic capacity.
Another clinic will be held at the Warwick Showgrounds from Tuesday 24 August to Friday 27 August (8.30am to 3.50pm) and on Saturday 28 August (8.30am to 1pm).
